About

Fresh history

Feel the passion in our products when you visit Atlanta’s first kombucha taproom. At Cultured South, we celebrate wellness, food culture, and genuine southern hospitality. With our brewery and fermentation kitchen just feet away, we are always bringing you new flavors. We take pride in the freshness and quality of our ingredients. We source our produce, herbs, and fruits from local farmers to create fun, fermented goods made for those in our community.

Melanie Wade, founder & brewmaster, created Cultured South Fermentation Company and Atlanta's first and only kombucha company, Golda Kombucha. Wade has been brewing since college, using her Grandma's Golda tea recipe. In 2013, Wade decided to share the family heirloom drink and expanded her kombucha company across the Southeast, showcasing smooth flavor combinations like peach ginger, lavender lemonade, and strawberry mint. Golda Kombucha is available at over 100 Kroger and Whole Foods stores.

In 2016, Wade began growing the Cultured South Fermentation Company brand, establishing it as a marketplace for healthy, living foods. Wade launched a brick-and-mortar tap room in Atlanta’s historic West End. The dynamic warehouse space operates as a kombucha tasting room, brewery, and shop. As a result of Golda Kombucha's success, Cultured South introduced Pure Abundance, an artisan vegan cheese line. The taproom is a home base for the Atlanta community to connect and learn through Cultured South’s local, probiotic-rich products.
